Today was the first day of my working "week." I've decided that doing my three days consecutively works better for remembering where I left off the previous day.

I started working on the Mary Landrieu files. She served 8 years in the Louisiana House, then ran for (and won) state treasurer. That's what I've got so much information and memorabilia on. And it is really in a mess--this stuff got soaked big time and the people who dried everything out I think got some of the stuff mixed up. There's quite a bit without any folders at all. I'm not sure if these files include her (successful) run for the US Senate, but I'm sure I'll find out by the end of the week. And I'm also sure that along the way I'll learn a lot more about Louisiana government and politics.

As I left this morning I had to stop and put out some dry food. One of the longish-haired black cats gave me a pleading look and came very close to letting me touch him (her?). If he's waiting for that cute little girl cat with the white paws to come into heat he's going to be waiting forever. She's a good cat and doesn't have any interest in doing the nasty.

After a couple of cool days it's warming up again. The marshes have burst into green. Bushes along the road almost hide the water behind them. Hope the weather holds through the weekend so I can continue my assault on the dewberries.
