Today there were no parking spots left by the time I got over to Tulane. I'll check again tomorrow about the "crip card."

And, tomorrow I shall get there quite early. Since my body is getting used to leaving the house by 6:30 at the latest on MWF, leaving at 7 should not be a problem. Since I have keys to the library AND the building, and my own alarm code, I can get an early start on work.

I do believe my brain has completed the transition to teaching again. I really like my class--they all show up very much on time, and they act awake. The department chair talked to me this afternoon, expressing his appreciation for my last-minute "hiring." I complained about the current text, he agreed, and we agreed that we'd just lecture without regard to the text. After all, the lectures are supposed to supplement the text material.

I had an e-mail from the department colleague who drew short straw for updating the department's web page. It already had one trip to Romania on it--I added the 2004 and 2005 trips, as well as my post-K work over at Newcomb. After all, we want parents to read the page and be impressed.

Oh yes--I actually had a student stop by my office! I wish more would--it's a chance for me to get acquainted with them as individuals.

I noticed that the raccoons had polished off the dog kibble, so this afternoon I put a bunch of small dog biscuits in the ice chest, replacing the lid so that they have to work to get them.

This afternoon I got involved in reading Catherine Coulter's The Cove. It's every bit as good as The Maze, which I read a couple of weeks ago. I shall probably finish it tonight.
