I'm almost caught up on grading!! With the ear/glands thing I haven't felt really motivated. But this afternoon I got most of the backed up grading caught up.

Very few students were in costume, or even Hallowe'en colors. (I still remember the time I had a long conversation with a sunflower.) I wore a black jacket, my off-white slacks, and my orange T-shirt that says (in big black letters) "I DON'T DO COSTUMES." The department secretary was decked out in a black skirt and an orange T-shirt (also bought at WalMart) that said "BOO!" about ten times. She had set out appropriate munchies. I had bought a couple of bags of Teddy Grahams mini-bags and let my class loose on them. And at 9 AM that was probably breakfast for several of the students.

I got back home about 11 AM, ate some of my Popeye's chicken liver dinner, saved the rest for this evening, then had a "sinking spell." When I woke up I headed for PJ's where I would not have distractions like partly read books lying around. Hence, the grading success.

Heard on the radio as I drove home: NPR had a piece about the current case in the courts as to whether lethal injection is a humane method of execution.

Is ANY method of execution "humane?" Or is this in comparison with earlier methods, such as burning, being torn asunder by horses going in 4 different directions, etc. etc.?

And have you noticed that many who claim to be "pro-life" are also pro-death (penalty).

How did I get onto this track? Hallowe'en, when the spirits of those who have passed are nearest to us.

Enough. Now I'll play around and try to decide what colrs I'll use for November.
