Not only am I completely caught up on grading exam-type stuff, but I am about halfway through (finally) grading paperlets.

That was this afternoon's rationalization for going to PJ's.

I must say this current group is better than the last group of paperlets. I hope the improvement continues--they have two more assigned.

The exams were greeted with dour expressions, for the most part.

I got started on the Christianity/Islam unit. This one is always interesting to teach, because most people don't about what religious ideas preceded--and probably influenced--Christianity. Luckily, Xavier is a Catholic college, and theology is a required course. The theology courses are most definitely NOT Catholicism 101. They are about religion and its various aspects.

And, considering the last few years, the students are quite anxious to learn about Islam. I don't think I have any Muslim students in my class this year, but it's not unusual to have one or two.

Actually, the last three units really get the attention of the kids. The final unit is Sub-Saharan Africa. I just hope that their interest translates into better performance on exams.

The raccoons continue to dine on dog biscuits, most of which they have to retrieve from a lidded (old) ice chest. I figure they need to know they have to work (a little) for their food.

And now it's back to the grading, which should be done by my bedtime.
