This relatively long break in routine--not just mine but everywhere--leaves me wondering if I'm still in a world where the days go by with a certain sense of order.

A look at my Word-a-Day calendar tells me it's Friday (and today's word is compunction) but it doesn't really connect with being the end of a work week or anything. And next week is no better. I need to get another lab test done some time next week. Okay--can't do it Tuesday (New Year's) and probably can't do it Monday either.

Wednesday? Well, I'd planned to go into work that day, but a check of the calendar tells me that I have a 7:30(am) dr. appt. Unfortunately, that is nowhere near the place where I get to leave a present in a cup. On the other hand, there will probably be very few people at Tulane and I should be able to find a relatively close parking spot, even late in the morning. Oh well, I have several days to sort out next week's activities. And things will soon be happening in a more or less predictable sequence.

This evening? Well, I might be able to finish my current book--Kitty and the Silver Bullet, by Carrie Vaughn. That is, if I'm not falling asleep watching TV and reading I can just keep going till the end. Not only is tomorrow Saturday, but I have only a few things that must be done, and those are generally related to having indoor cats.
