Three days of work, and now a four day weekend. And I pretty much wasted day one of it.

Slept a bit later than I do with an alarm clock that has been set, but it didn't matter.

I messed around a bit in the morning, and got caught up in reading Nora Roberts' new book. After lunch YD stopped by briefly for some paperwork needed for their house purchase. I told her that the next time she stops by she needs to take a few minutes and repplace an outdoor light bulb and to fix the chain by which the closet light used to work. I do NOT care to do ladder climbing. However, there is no real urgency about about either project.

Since I had to pick up some monthly prescriptions I went to PJ's and used some more of my lovely gift card on another yummy hot chocolate. The barista (that's surely not right--what is the masculine form?) gave it to me without the whipped cream on top. I mentioned it, and he said "you wanted whipped cream" and I replied "Is the Pope Catholic?" That old chestmut got a laugh. (The staff tend to be under twenty, so some of the long-time oldies are funny to them.)

I continued reading the Roberts book until I finished the hot chocolate and reached a good stopping place. Then, a stop at the Walgreen's next door, and on home.

No last minute phone call, so Newcomb will be getting me three days a week instead of the two last semester. Whatever--I am so glad I have that job. The people are great and the hours are flexible. And, of course, the work is extremely interesting.

It's gotten distinctly cooler, so my enthusiaism for outdoor work has flagged. Maybe tomorrow I'll be inspired to do indoor stuff, other than reading.

The day, however, has been a relaxing one.
