Yes, the prediction was for a majorly yucky day today, and it was indeed that.

And I had the dentist appointment.

It's an interesting task to manage a cane, a small totebag with wallet etc. and book in it, AND an umbrella. Luckily, it was only a short walk from my parking spot to the office.

The hygenist has been there for almost forever, and I got totally caught up on what her kids were doing (one is at Ole Miss) and the football games they'd gone to, plus the college plans of #2 kid. I told her I hoped the dentist hadn't had any more disasters.

A year ago I showed up for my checkup and he was in the ER because of a heart attack. Post Katrina he had just gotten out after having a tree fall on him.

But today he was healthy.

His wife does the bookkeeping and she told me she would soon be a grandmother. She oohed and ahhed appropriately over the picture of YGD.

So, since it was still raining off and on when I got back home, I did what any sane person would do and took a nap. With cats, of course.

Mostly today I lazed about and read. I think I can finish the Cornwell book this evening. This one is really creepy and bizarre. It may be the last one I read.

Tomorrow I shall go into work again--the nasty front has passed over us and we should have several absolutely gorgeous days.

Other than going to the dentist, this was definitely and IUD.
