On the list: pick up prescription at drugstore in the AM, because the last time they faxed the dr. for a renewal the renewal somehow didn't make it. Prescription was ready, so obviously the dr.'s office read its faxes. And acted on them. (And office closes at noon on Fridays.)

I also had "get car washed" on the list, but the sky was vaguely threatening.

Instead I got some more power steering fluid at Pep Boys, and learned that they do repair work also. A PS pump change would probably take about two hours max, but they have comfy places to sit. When I use up my current purchase I'll give that some thought.

Then I had lunch at Arby's (the corned beef reuben sandwich) and read some more in the book about the four Byzantine Queens.

The rest of the afternoon was sort of typical for me--PJ's (where I chatted briefly with the CA lawyer friend) and more reading in the queen book.

Before I left this morning I had to referee in some feline activity. Emma came by, Lady objected vocally, then TomTom appeared. I petted Emma, then put out some dry food for her. (The second dish would not, of course, have been for TomTom.)

TomTom is nowhere near coming to see me, but he doesn't run away as long as I don't make any sudden moves. I try not to think about what I'd do if I could capture him--he may read minds.

I don't know who is working to cleanse the world of little green lizards, but I do wish the Mighty Huntress would NOT leave the corpses on the living room carpet--which is almost dead lizard color. I haven't stepped on one--yet. (I'm usually barefoot in the house.)

However, I'm a mother, and after cleaning off s***** backsides, a dead lizard is nothing. Even if I find it with a bare foot.
