I made it in to work today before 7:30. ("Official" starting time at the Center is 9.) And I got quite a bit done. This is the second long day this week, and I think I'll get about as much done with two long days as I have been with three days where I arrive more than an hour later.

And since it's a 70 mile round trip, and I get about 24mpg, that's three gallons of gas less each week. You do the math. At the moment, gas is about $3.80/gallon.

I think tomorrow I'll get the oil changed at the car wash place. The former is way overdue, and where I'm going includes a wash with an oil change. The car REALLY needs to be washed--lots of sap-drippies on it.

I looked at my pocket claendar this afternoon and discovered I have four medical appointments of various types this month. Routine visits, all of them. But I've got to pay attention to what day of the week it is!

Her little black and white majesty was happily stretched out in the driveway when I got home. She just looked at me and didn't move. So I honked. And she reluctantly got to her feet and ambled along ahead of the car. The calico cutie was under a bush where she was safely out of the way.

Now that we all know who the major party candidates are going to be, WHY ARE THERE GOING TO BE NOMINATING CONVENTIONS??? What a waste of money.

And the popular vote totals do not mean election--the Electoral College is another little goody put in by our Founding Fathers to make sure the upper classes stayed in charge.

(Little did they know about the utilization of hanging chads for "adjusting" election results.)

My stomach is reminding me that I haven't eaten yet.

Hang in there. Illegitimus non caraborundem.

(It's lousy Latin, but a good sentiment.)
