Did some car tidying this morning--such as emptying out the stuff I'd bought but not yet needed. Today was marked for a car bath.

I don't bathe my own car. (I don't bathe anybody's car.) But the car also needed some fresh oil, so I figured I'd get both done at the car wash.

Bit of a problem: they didn't have the right kind of oil filter. The last time I was there, a couple of years or so ago--but after Katrina--there was no problem. Oh well, the car REALLY needed a bath and it got that. It looks lovely, and the removable carpet pads that go in the front are back in place. (They had gotten wet a year or so ago and I hadn't gotten around to putting them back after they dried out.)

After my car was bright and clean I headed for--where else?--PJ's for some geek reading time.

Just as I was about to leave a woman came up and started chatting with me. Her daughter had taken lifeguarding from me probably about 8 or so years ago. Anyway, I learned that the daughter is now an anthropologist and working in archaeology!

Tomorrow I plan to do some yard work EARLY, then replenish the larder (make groceries.)

Tomorrow looks to be almost as exciting as today.
