YD took me to lunch today, and of course I ate too much. But it was delicious. And--it was Mediterranean-style cooking so it was heart-healthy. (I'll bet there were plenty of calorieis though!)

I got home just in time to receive an edible bouquet from both daughters. (Thank you SO much!!)

Let me tell you--this was quite something! I took it apart because it wouldn't fit in my fridge without a major shelf rearrangement. I now have a huge bowl of strawberries, lots of orange and pineapple chunks, grapes galore, and four small cantaloupe balls that will be a treat for my masked friends. (I don't eat cantaloupe--it makes my ears itch.) There were also eight or more huge orange sections dipped in chocolate.

These were arranged on thin plastic spears stabbed into a head of lettuce which had been covered with some other green stuff.

The chocolate-covered oranges lasted abaout ten minutes. (Had to eat them right away--it's hot and they could melt if out of the fridge.)

I am set with fruit for a while! I haven't checked, but I'll bet that you can find Edible Bouquet somewhere on the net.

I put the excess greenery in the "garden" area. Either it will become a sort of mulch, or it will become a critter veggie.

Speaking of critters--in addition to mice some critter had a bird on the patio. Only a couple of feathers, so it may have gotten away.

After gorging myself at lunch, I had a wee bit of a sinking spell, then decided to rent AC at PJ's and read more of a murder mystery set in Macedonia, between the death of Phillip (the one who conquered a Greece worn out by the Pelponnesion Wars) and the subsequent coming to power of Alexander (known as The Great.)

Reading well-researched mysteries in historical settings gives a bit more reality to the period.

Anyway--tomorrow begins the official weekend, not to mention summer. (or was that today?) Next week I have only one commitment, other than work. Then I will once again have some flexibility in my activities.

I have absolutely no desire for supper or any more food today!

(Oh yes--I also have four new books to read.)
