Well, not completely normal--PJ's closed at noon.

And in a couple of hours the firecracker noises will be starting.

I decided to have supper at Arby's and I think there was less traffic on the streets than on Christmas Day!

The traffic light waits seemed interminable, especially when there was little or no cross traffic.

I finished Dead Witch Walking, by Kim Harrison. It was quite good and I am pleased to see that there are four other books by her listed on the flyleaf.

However, I shall restrain myself (for the time being) since I have three others in the birthday bag. I did, however, order a book for someone else.

The book I started while eating supper is by another Poisoned Pen Press author. This one is set in medieval England, and so far I like the author's writing (and historical background and attitude) better than the previous one. The previous book wasn't bad, but this one is a lot better.

I still have all sorts of yard work on my to-do list, including making up a safe weed killer. (I had the recipe in my blog about a month ago.) It occurred to me that using regular weed killer on plants might not be too good an idea if animals (especially the cats) chewed on it.

The weed whacker is definitely ill. I may need a new power pack. Maybe tomorrow, but surely next Tuesday (I plan to work Monday) I'll take it by the lawn mower etc. repair shop that has been in business forever.

This evening's "domestic" chore will be tacking the rolled-up short sleeves of some blouses so that they look better. I also need to fix one of the hangers for the hooked hanging and see if I have the right color thread for another minor repair blouse repair.

Ye gads, but I do lead an exciting and challenging life!
