My blood wasn't quite up to the iron standards. At least they checked the hemoglobin before asking about my sex partners. Since I answer "yes" to the have you been in Africa question, I get all sorts of extra questions. Dang but I lead a boring life! (If you haven't given blood, that will mean little to you.)

So, I have to wait a bit for my ice cream. The special is on all month.

After that abbreviated visit I headed for PJ's and reading. I went with a mind candy book, the sequel to the one I wasn't all that enthusiastic about. I am already finding it hard to care about the main characters.

I think the plot line could be placed in almost any historical/geographical setting. I feel the background as just that--background, rather than a requisite setting for the plot. To be fair, I'm only into the third chapter. I will finish it, then release it into the wild via BookCrossings. But I doubt very much that I'll buy any more books by that author. (I've already ordered another one by the author I did like.)

So, today ended up being a basic IUD. I got reading done, I got some weeding done (and said hello to the six inch wide turtle and the three inch long turtle back in the pool) and I got my hair washed.

Not an exciting day, but not a bad day overall.
