The sound of helicopters once again.

For days (weeks) after Katrina there was almost constant helicopter noise.

The National Guard Armory is less than five miles away, and they were, of course, in and out of there.

And now they are over us again.

This waiting is really boring. I just woke up from a nap, and now I guess I'd better dump accumulated newspapers (did I mention that the Sunday paper was delivered about noon yesterday?) and move stuff like lawn chairs and trash cans into the garage.

They're predicting landfall about dawn. AND the location is still Houma--substantially west of New Orleans. Of course, Slidell (30 miles east of N.O.) is still within the zone of hurricane force winds. (That's 74 mph and up.)
