My neighbor just called and we rehashed our interpretations of the weather forecast. We agreed that Bob Breck is giving the most informative ones. (And I just had an e-mail from the Saints office wishing all their season ticket holders well and recapping the forecast by--Bob Breck.)

She also asked if my kids had been bugging me, because her stepdaughter had a total fit that they weren't going to evacuate. Naturally, her husband was in the shower at the time, so she got to take the call.

My kids have NOT been bugging me. (Thank you kids.) Either they figure that I do have an iota of common sense or that I am so pig-headed that I'd tell them where to go if they tried to boss me around.

At any rate, things seem to be looking up a bit for this area (St. Tammany Parish). Landfall is predicted for about 6 AM, although (of course) feeder bands will be starting long before that. Storm surge is the big worry for the North Shore (of Lake Pontchartrain) but I'm not near the lakefront.

There are still a LOT of cars across the street(s) so I figure the family decide to ride out the storm all together. They surely would have left by now otherwise.

I shall now put out critter food, then take a shower. I really worked up a sweat putting junk away and my hair is still soaked.

I shall probably refrain from posting again until morning.
