A very satisfactory season opener--the Saints beat Tampa Bay.

And, it was a sort of "reunion" time with the regulars in our section. I'm trying to remember when we first sat there, and it was when Pete (late husband) was alive. I'd guess it's been ten years or more.

At one point three people (two women and a man) in bright yellow SECURITY jackets came down the aisle.

It seems that a young woman in the very front row (up against a divider) was causing concern. She appeared to be topless. But--she wasn't. She had on a tube top and the dividing wall hid it. The male guard took off in a hurry. The women were snickering.

But--the Saints won.

Weatherwise, we've shifted from Gustav concern to Ike concern. Even if Ike goes inland in eastern Texas, we'll still have nasty weather this coming weekend.

YD and husband took their little girl and his youngest daughter (from a previous marriage) with them to Washington D.C. to escape Gustav. That girl is in college. Two of her other (older) unmarried sisters also live in the area, so YD has a supply of babysitters (which she, of course, pays.)

I'm an only child, and had very few cousins--none of whom lived particulary close by. And none were near my age. YGD is very lucky--not only does she have the half-siblings and their offspring, but OD has two kids whom she sees fairly often.

I've got a bunch to do around the house and the yard. There's not all that much to be picked up (in the yard) but I do need to get at that before we have any more tropical weather. Sometimes the list seems endless. Unfortunately, the neighborhood kids whom we used to hire have all grown up and started families of their own.

Enough of the moping around!! The Saints won today.
