Definitely an IUD

It's a good thing I decided to stay home today, because I didn't really wake up till almost 9 AM. Obviously, I needed the sleep.

I spent most of the morning catching up on personal bookkeeping and getting a LOT of junk off the dining room table.

Next Unremarkable Chore: take the trash barrels up to the road, because the trash man comes tomorrow.

At some point after that I dozed off reading, but woke up in time to have a bit of lunch then head for PJ's.

And I struck paydirt there--ran into a friend I haven't seen for quite a while. He's a talented phtographer and is using those skills, along with comuter skills, to "restore" damaged photographs.

He can digitally remove mildew and all sorts of other stuff. And in one case he replaced the badly weathered hands with some he pulled from the internet.

He alternates living in Slidell with living in the Smokies. This is the first time I've seen him in quite a few months. I half thought that he'd abandoned Louisiana post-Katrina. He made the mistake of heading for the Smokies right about the time Gustav brought about the great contraflow evacuation and got caught in the park-and-creep traffic.

And--along the lines of park-and-creep---I had to pick up a prescription at Walgreen's on the way home. I generally use the drive-up for this, but today there was a ridiculously long wait for one car/person to take care of the transaction. I shut off the engine after five minutes of zero progress. I'm glad I did, because it was another 20 minutes before it was my turn.

Why didn't I park and go inside? Well, it's a whole lot easier to wait in line sitting in a car reading a book than standing inside. (Standing for extended periods and I do not get along.)

Tomorrow I plan on going in to work and have already set the alarm--and double-checked that it will go off in the AM, rather than the PM like hapened once before.

Yes, today was definitely an IUD.
