Although with the majority of the year on daylight "savings" time that might be the "real" time.

Anyway--I got all the clocks (that I look at and which function reasonably well) reset, and one of my watches. (I buy cheap watches and color-coordinate them with what I might be wearing.)

The computer and the phone do their own thing automatically.

I didn't hear from my guy, so I'll probably stop by the store tomorrow in case he lost my number. One disadvantage of the cell phone is that there is nowhere to find out the number.

But--I got about two weeks' worth of papers dumped, plus half a barrel of yard trash. I said hello to the resident turtles who surfaced to see who was messing with their home.

And then I did some cleanup work around the driveway/parking area. That lasted until my neighbor called a hello.

We had a nice conversation, and I learned that Lady goes hunting with Emma--the cat that YD left with me temporarily, and who ran away and adopted my neighbor. I told her about Lady's recent "gifts" to me, not to mention her avian and rodent breakfasts. We had a nice long chat. And I didn't get as much done on the driveway as I had more or less planned.

Thank goodness school has been cancelled on Election Day. I have a vague recollection of one time when it wasn't, and it was a huge mess. The only reason it's even on a Tuesday is because it involves national offices. Louisiana normally has Saturday elections--a (very intelligent) legacy of populist Huey Long.

What will the TV stations do for money when all the political advertising ends?

YD is back from Canada and the very cold weather. She's lived in the Deep South all her life and, as they say, her "blood has thinned out."

(So has mine--from being in the Deep South continuously since 1963.)

Enough of the daily drivel--time to settle down with a book and watch (sort of) TV.
