It was definitely a this and that day.

It started early, with a chiropractor appointment in the next town--about 45 minutes away.

Fred (I've known him since he was in high school) commented that I had good muscle tone in my back. (The last time I saw him he said I didn't.) I told him there was nothing like lifting cartons of paper files to build up those msucles. I am surprised that there was a noticable change. I'm doing about the same stuff as always at work, but guess I've been doing more of it.

After finishing with him I headed to a nearby PJ's to meet YD and pass along a book. We had a nice visit and then I headed home.

As I got to the big intersection where I normally turn, I remembered that I wanted to check out the women's clothing at K-Mart. (There used to be one in Slidell, but no more.)

I was lucky and found a nice cardigan, on a 40% off sale price.

After that, I headed home. Sort of. I planned to stop at the mechanic's place to talk about several little things with my car, and I did just that. He ordered some new knobs for the climate controls, then we were just talking a bit when there was a HUGE crumpling metal sound.

Someone had not been payiing attention and rammed into the back of a much larger vehicle. I think the hood was crushed to about half its former length. The auto guy quickly called it in while we watched as the various people involved showed that there were no immediate injuries.

OD came out of her office (next to the auto guy) to see what was happening.

By the time I left there were two cop cars, a fire engine, and another siren in the distance which was probably an ambulance--just in case.

And there was a cop directing traffic. Luckily, there is a center turning lane in that area, so traffic was not totally blocked.

This is the main road to the big mall area, and there was a LOT of traffic.

I finished talking with auto guy and headed on home. If the parts come in tomorrow morning, then he'll work on the car then. If they don't, he won't. I may have a one-day work week.

I spent the better part of the afternoon at my "usual" PJ's, reading.

So--today ended up being only about 35% totally unremarkable.
