There's nothing like a game of crinkle-fender at 4 PM to slow things down.

When I came off the Hwy 11 bridge it seemed that the traffic was slowing down way too soon for the traffic light at the entrance to a subdivision (which flooded of course during Katrina).

After a bit more of the stop and slow I called in to the traffic radio to tell them about it. I could tell that the back-up was reaching back to the Hwy 11 bridge. Just as I started telling about the traffic, I spotted red and blue lights way ahead. And the red lights of a fire engine. Conclusion? Bumper tag by a couple of impatients.

When I got up to that point I spotted two very crumpled cars loaded on wreckers. Since I didn't hear any sirens I was either too far away or no one needed to head for a hospital. There is a third choice, but the cars didn't look THAT bad.

That little pile-up probably won't even make the N.O. paper. (I quit taking the local rag a bit after Katrina--it had gotten even worse than before the storm.)

Tomorrow is supposed to be clear and "brisk." I'll try to get a bit more done outside as well as inside.

And now it is time to veg out in front of the mindless electronic "entertainment."
