My Incredibly Unremarkable Life

I've read all the other journals on my list--now time for me to post.

Home today, and back at the weeding. I spent two hours semi-hidden under some overgrown bushes/treelets rooting out expletive dewberries and other stuff. I halfway cut down a small tree. It's one of many volunteers, and IMHO is growing too close to the house.

I do this work seated in a lawn chair, but it still takes time and I don't think that I sweat any less. I went through a pint of water in nothing flat. (I rinse out 16 oz. soda bottles, half-fill them with water, then toss them in the freezer. Voila! after filling them the rest of the way with water, I have some really refreshing ice water for rehydration.)

I haven't emptied the trash container onto the TBB (to be burned) pile yet, but I wasn't planning to burn stuff today anyway.

A cold shower refreshed me somewhat, and after a bit bunch more fluid I headed out for air conditioning. Today it was PJ's where I cooled down and read some more about trends in romance writing. The barista recognized me as her long time ago swimming teacher.

A mid-week stop at WalMart on the way home, and now I am settled in for the evening.

One of my "impulse" purchases at WalMart was a hardback copy of a J. D. Robb for only $7. It has a 2007 copyright. Don't know how I missed it, but I'm catching up now.

I'd tell you the title, but I'm too tired from the morning activity to walk to the other end of the house to get it.

And, I strongly suspect that this will be a very short evening.
