Ida, with her counter-clockwise (widdershins) winds and currents, played a bit of semi-havoc with the Mississippi today. As she swirled at the mouth of the river, the river had a hard time flowing into the Gulf of Mexico, and the level rose.

We're far enough away from the Gulf that we have had relatively little of the storm. A bit of rain, but that's about it. It's headed east of us, but the winds continue to decrease, albeit slowly.

I think rain is predicted for tomorrow. I do not plan to go into New Orleans.

This afternoon Yard Kid appeared. This time he remembered to get my telephone number. Once the rain quits he'll be back working on the yard. I gues he and Taco Bell are getting along. I'm after him to think seriously about getting some college credits. I'll have to see what is being offered locally.

Spots decided YK was okay and allowed him to pet him.

As you can tell, it was an IUD.
