Not what I call a great day (weatherwise) but it beats being snowed in or hurricaned out.

When I got to work I discovered that half the (divided) street by the Women's Center was closed off. It looks like they are trying to do something about the flooding from a heavy fog. At the moment, the work is on the outgoing side.

I was doing really well at the archival work until I somehow managed to lose the screw that holds one of my lenses in place. I didn't have any safety pins around, but I did have some dental floss, and the librarian was able to thread it through the little holes and tie it. It worked for a bit, but the lens was not as secure and did little shifts.

When I was done with my lunch I decided to head back home by way of WalMart and get the thing fixed.

The fixing took all of about three minutes. The glasses now have screws that hold the lenses in place.

No charge, of course.

I've been using the same frames for quite a while now, and they have more than paid for themselves in their durability.

This Saturday is the first playoff game for the Saints. I hope they are rested, accurate, and hungry.

It's still cold here, and the cats are curled tightly into little (well, various sized) balls. And of course their noses are kept wrm by the paw on top of it. I am quite sure I'll have my (mostly) black fur cuddler tonight. (And I hope I sleep better than last night.)
