YD came by this afternoon and took me to see Sherlock. Very good.

I probably read most of the Holmes books when I was a kid. Mysteries and science fiction were my genres of choice, and they still make up the bulk of my mind candy reading.

It had been threatening to rain when we got to the theatre, and it was quite obvious that it had rained during the show.

I think my cats have "bonded"--I saw them touch noses at one point as though to say hello.

When we got back we discovered that I had a BUNCH of mail--including a box that was jammed into the mailbox. I am so glad that I have the next size up from a "standard" mailbox.

Said box contained six or seven books. I'd gone ahead and responded to a "membership" plea from a mystery book club. You know--the kind with six books for free, a seventh at a really reduced price, and a promise to buy several more.

So, it will be a while before I run out of mind candy--at least a week !

Meanwhile, I should read the paper and find out how boring tonight's TV will be, and whether I need to dig out a new book.

Weather is basically disgusting, with the rain. I don't think it will be much (if any) better tomorrow.

Who cares? I've got a whole stack of new books!!
