Relaxing AND Productive

That's what today was for me.

Relaxing--spent more than two hours relaxing on a comfortable couch while I read.

Productive--the above was done with a needle in one arm leading to the machinery that takes blood, separates it into the red cells and platelets, then gives back the red cells.

It was a busy platelet day at the vampire factory. During the time I was there four others were donating platelets and two were parting with whole blood.

When I got there one of the "regular" couches had a guy who looked a bit pale. He was all bundled up in blankets, and getting a lot of attention from the staff. He had had a negative reaction to donating. I think it was his first time.

When I had finished I headed back home and hit the couch for a nap. I got to bed sort of late last night and didn't make up the time in the morning.

I figure tonight will be an early one, which is good because I have tentative plans for going in to work tomorrow, and I have to get there early to get a decent parking spot.

My e-mail today included a note from the Saints' office telling the obvious. I expect one very soon about registering for the Superbowl ticket lottery. Season ticket holders for both teams get priority on tickets. I have no plans (or desire) to go to Miami, but I'd sure like to have tickets to resell--at a profit.

While we here in the swamp were occupied with football, apparently nothing earthshaking happened in our area. Earthshaking--Haiti is in such bad shape.

The last time I felt the earth shake was almost 50 years ago when we lived in southern California. And that was just a tiny tremor.

Time now to "relax" a bit more. I got a book catalog in the mail, and I want to see how many (reduced price) books they have that I desparately need.
