The S word has been mentioned in the meteorological predictions.

Not just for the cold frozen north, but possibly for here at 90/30 (lat/long).

Lousy timing of the weather deities--Carnival parades are beginning. Well, what do we care--we won the Super Bowl and had a parade to end all parades. (Some estimate the total crowd at a million.)

I haven't heard too much about the official spectator count for the victory parade, but the upcoming weather is in the news. And there was a nasty multi-fatality accident that closed down a portion of the interstate on the west side of the city late this afternoon.

CC has managed to create a really cozy little spot for herself on the papasan. I tossed a sweater over there a day or so ago, and she has managed to make it into a nest.

Spots is stretched out on the floor behind my chair. I must remember to look before I scoot the chair around.

I've been waiting for a parking pass to arrive in the mail (for Tulane) and there's been no sign of it. Today I e-mailed the secretary and she said she'd sent it.

Then I remembered that New Orleans was almost completely shut down for the parade yesterday, and I imagine that said pass is somewhere in the post office.

I ran a couple of errands in the late afternoon and found myself a t-shirt to commemorate the Super Bowl victory. (The Blood Center t-shirt just says CHAMPIONS.)

I'm leaving the WHO DAT on my black cane.

Since I don't have a parking pass, I guess I'm not going in tomorrow.
