I'd sort of planned to go in to work today, but my mind had other ideas.

Either I forgot to set the alarm or it wasn't done quite right.

At any rate, it was full daylight when I woke up. And that's too late to get a close-by parking space. (I'm about 35 miles from work.)

So, I pretty much wasted and idled the day away. The furthest I got from the house was the walk to the mailbox--all 100-plus feet of it (each way).

My neighbors are off on a weekend trip or something. She called last night to let me know about it, and that the pet-sitter would be visiting. I think the dog is staying at the sitter's place. She's out a bit and at one time advertised her kennel as Doggie Camp, with daily hikes in the woods.

Katrina did a job and a half on the trees on her property, not to mention the kennel area, but she's solidly back in business.

I was going to read some more of Blood of the Demon but I dozed off. I'm hoping I can stay awake to read more of it this evening. It's off to a great start.

Living in the area in which it is set makes it easy to visualize.

After the Saints won the Superbowl, the governor of Indiana had to pay off a bet he'd made with the Louisiana governor and fly the Louisiana flag over the Indiana state capitol.

The sequel to this is that the flag was then auctioned off on E-bay and got more than $6000. And the money went to a sports program for less-privilegged youth in Indiana.

Way to go!!

And another IUD is about over.
