Not so much because of what happened, but more what didn't happen.

My car continued being difficult. I called the car man, describing its latest idiosyncracies, and he said he'd pick it up on his way home.

Not sure what happened, but he didn't, I do know we lost power for about an hour in the late afternoon, so the power outage might have been more than just my neighborhood. I'll be sure and get up early tomorrow, in case he picks it up on his way into work.

Power is (obviously) back on now. It was a transformer or something similar--I heard the bang and about 20 minutes later CLECO (Central Louisiana Electric Company) came cruising down the road and stopped just past my house.

In the summer it's really easy to see where a power outage is--it's where everybody is now outside.

I sat on the porch reading and talking to the cats.

My grandson graduates from 7th grade this evening. I'd sort of planned to go, but it's in Covington and I don't want to drive the 30 miles (each way) with an uncertain car.

Around here the Catholic high schools generally start with 8th grade--hence the 7th grade graduation from the Episcopal school he is currently at. Next year he's transferring to a Catholic boys' high school (8 - 12) where he can (hopefully) play football.

The school he's been at since pre-K is in the process of adding high school grades--but no football. (Anna will stay at this school through grade 12.)

The electricity was restored just in time--it's getting dark more rapidly now.

Back to my book, with a mindless TV background.
