Today has evidently been influenced by the blue colors for this month.

Yes--it's raining. It started a little after 4 PM, and is drizzling its way through the evening, apparently.

The rain cools, but it also raises the humidity. (You can't win.)

Today was a "this and that" day--lots of little stuff.

About 4ish I decided to head for Arby's with the Crichton book. My order was about 30 seconds away from greeting me.

I had sort of planned to stop on the way home at Walgreen's for something, but I couldn't remember what, and it was drizzling.

Little Goldie came by about mid-afternoon. I quickly put out a big bowl of critter kibble. She's starting to learn that I won't put it down if she's on the porch inside.

The cats ignore her, although Spots' actions yesterday were almost that of "hurry up and put down some food for her."

I expect to be hearing firecrackers soon. I think they're sold for only a week or ten days before the Fourth. (They are on sale for two weeks before New Year's.)

Spots just bounded in. His fur is somewhat damp, which means he has to give himself a full bath, starting with the tip of his tail. Tails are hard to wash--they keep twitching out of reach.

Pirate Latitudes (the Crichton book) is looking good. The area refferred to is in the New World.

I think I read every Horatio Hornblower book written, beginning when I was in my teens, so the naval aspects of it are relatively known to me.

So--it's a dreary evening ahead, cmplete with wetness, but partially compensated by a well-written book.
