I sure hope not. I had it off for a few minutes and when I turned it back on only the fan came on.

I should probaly clean the filter, or something.

AHA!! There goes the compressor--and here comes a somewhat cooler breeze.

Phew!! This would not have been a good time for the thing to conk out.


I spent most of the afternoon at PJ's, working on some stuff, supposedly.

However, I ended up meeting someone and having a lovely chat.

It started when she and her daughter had just settled down, and she discovered she needed to dash home (close by). She asked me to sort of keep an eye on things.

When she returned shortly we got chatting. She's a teacher and was interested in my varied peregrinations, especially the work I'd done in Romania. She seemed to be adding me to her mental list of potentially Interesting People for her class.

I came home to find two cats and four or five raccoons waiting restlessly for supper.

Today's excuse for no yard work was a valid one--too hot.

That will probably be tomorrow's also, unless we get some cooling rain tonight.

At least my AC is working.
