Trying to keep track of the day of the week can be a challenge when there is little difference between daily activities. I had planned on going to church this morning, but my body did something unusual and kept me asleep till almost 11 AM.

Shortly after lunch (breakfast?) I had a call from a long-time friend. We met in Cheyenne in 1960, and have kept in fairly close touch since then. She and her husband ended up in southern Caifornia, while we meandered through Abilene (Texas), California, Louisiana, Cape Canaveral, and then Louisiana again.

It was good talking to her.

My fuzzy friends were waiting for supper, and it appears that last year's mama (Mama Goldie) came by to check the food situation. She had four little ones with her. They were all very courteous and appropriately cautious while I put out the food. Once I was back inside the house they dug in.

And YD and I talked. Primary purpose of the call was to to soldify plans for Thurssday--the Saints' opening game. It should be pretty spectacular. And I sure hope they win.

They've looked pretty good in pre-season. But that's also the time for trying out all sorts of new people, many of whom will no longer be around for the regular season.

Keep fingers crossed!

My head is still oozing a bit. I'll call the doctor again tomorrow. I certainly hope it isn't going to be like the bite from a dying cat that brought about two (minor) surgeries and six weeks of IV antibiotics!

My neighbor called to chat a bit today. I assured her that any time her husband needed to use any of the power tools that are in the garage (that he is slowly tidying up) he was more than welcome to.

A good day, I'd say.
