The summer is now officially ended--I got the furnace pilot lit today.

I was going to do it myself, then decided that a general cleaning of the furnace was probably worth the investment and called one of the local companies that has done assorted work for me before. (The furnace--and the house--are 46 years old.)

They sent someone out about noon and after an hour or so of checking each and every part--and cleaning stuff--the pilot was once again lit. I suspect that the furnace was older than the repairman.

I expect to turn it on tomorrow morning to take the edge off.

So much for summer. The cats will like having the warm air spots scattered around the floors once again producing warm air.

I think I can safely put the sleeveless shirts at the bottom of the drawer again.

I have an appointment in New Orleans tomorrow afternoon, so I think I'll wash my hair in the morning. The bump seems to be smaller, but I think there's probably some clotted blood mixed in with my hair, and it will be good to get rid of that--and have clean hair again. The latest drug seems to be doing the trick.

Most of the kibble I put out for the wild ones is gone--when it gets dark I'll toss out the biscuits. It won't be too long before they go off to establish their own territories.
