I got home and found there was no paper in the tube. And the only mail was an ad.

I dug out yesterday's paper and tried calling the number for no delivery.

That was no help at all. I tried several other numbers that were in that little box, and - - - nothing. They said they had no record matching the phone and house numbers. Well, the house number has been the same for 25 - 30 years, but they might not have my cell phone number. Of course, I didn't get home till after four. It's not the greatest way to identify people, what with the telephone transition. I may threaten to take them off auto-pay if they give me a hard time tomorrow. And remind them that updating information every once in a while might be a good idea.

I checked and the bill is paid automatically.

Tomorrow morning I hope I've cooled down a bit, because the poor schmucks that get to answer complaint calls don't get paid enough and anyway it's not their fault.

Seethe, seethe, seethe.

On the bright side - - - (there's got to be one)- - ?

I haven't decided whether I need anything at a store where I could also buy a paper. I can't think of anything--except maybe chocolate mint chip ice cream.

When I got home it was a bit later than the masked ones are used to for their dinner. But they were happy to see the kibble being poured out. I'll toss out more biscuits than usual later in the evening.

The cats are used to variations in the "schedule."

The weather is gorgeous. Low humidity, and moderate temperatures.

Went in to work today and started on a new collection.

This is about the sisters of Dr. Michael DeBakey--the heart transplant guy. Both sisters have PhDs in language stuff and apparently are (were?--they were 70 some 25 years ago) well-respected on their own. Both women were Newcomb graduates, and Michael DeBakey went to Tulane Medical.

It's quite interesting--that's the neat part about doing the archival work.

I think I've settled down to where I want to eat.
