A Pleasant Day

Spent a very nice time at OD's home. My youngest grandchild (6, and in first grade) was pleased with her assortment of little gifts, six of which had $5 bills hidden so that she could buy her own books. Her parents didn't think the tractor at all odd.

I learned that not only is she reading the "regular" readers, but longer books that she checks out of the library. Not the "adaptations" for new readers, but the real things.

When I got home I got some dirty looks from the cats--who smelled Other Cats on my hands. I think once the other cats smelled mine, they went out of their way to send a message that I'd been touching/petting them.

A very pleasant day.

Weatherwise--not so hot. There was some rain on the drives back and forth. Now it's settled down to gray skies.

I left shortly after eating--the others were headed for Lafayette for the all-family Christmas celebration--which they had hosted last year. (Lafayette is home to Jack's oldest daughter--the same one who got the Saints tickets to their next to last regular season home game.)

This evening will be one of relaxation. I had a "reminder" call from the blood center earlier this week, but I rather doubt they will be open tomorrow. I'll put it at the top of my list for Monday or Tuesday.

I hope y'all had a holiday as pleasant as mine.

The nicest part of the day was getting there early and being there for all of Anna's gift opening.
