At the moment, I plan to go in to work tomorrow. Rain would change those plans. (So would forgetting to set the alarm.)

Today has been another nothing day. I may be getting bad habits from being around my cats so much. My female (CC) has a tendency to sleep a lot. She goes out sometimes, but not nearly as much as Spots.

Spots has appointed himself Guardian of the Yard. Since I haven't seen any alligators I assume he specializes in reptiles. He welcomes possums and raccoons, and invites them to share the food bounty.

Fortunately, he makes sure they don't try to get into the house proper, although they could if they really wanted to--through the cat door. But those are wild critters, and not interested in exploring further as long as there is food available.

In the past I've had a possum or two come in, but not any more.

The TV covered a New Orleans parade for most of the afternoon. I haven't checked to see if they're covering the night parade.

There was a parade in Slidell, but it didn't keep me from getting to WalMart for some stuff--such as critter food.

I remembered the parade, and got to the drugstore to pick up a prescription well before the crowds started to gather. The drugstore I use is located on a busy corner on the parade route, and is essentially unreachable from where I live, once a parade is passing.

At any rate, I managed to get my various errands done reasonably quickly.

So, another IUD. And I'm hoping the weather is good tomorrow. I'll probably leave work early (assuming I go in) to avoid New Orleans parades.

It's a good thing the paper prints the routes of the parades, and the starting time estimates.

When you've lived here as long as I have, the presence of the parades comes close to being unremarkable--as long as you pay attention to the routes and times.
