My Incredibly Unremarkable Life
A Journal (more or less)

That's my reaction to my computer's recalcitrance.

This afternoon it decided that it would hide the little strip along the top of the screen--the one where you can click on Favorites and a bunch of other stuff.

I smiled sweetly at the screen (while gritting my teeth) and discovered that I could make that header strip appear (and let me use those commands) but not stay.

So, I called my friendly computer guy and got the shop just as it was about to close. I told the woman who answered what the problem was and that it was merely mildly urgent--not a crisis. Aside from currently being able to work around it (more or less) I have the laptop to prevent total computer withdrawal.

I will not be surprised if the guy doesn't call me tomorrow--after all, it's a High Holy Day around here. (Remember--the word "holiday" comes from "Holy Day.")

But I would much rather the computer had behaved itself.

So, until mid-afternoon my day was quite unremarkable, other than the daytime TV offerings. They cut away for when King Zulu and King Argus made a ceremonial landing (??) in Jefferson Parish (adjacent to Orleans on the west). And then this evening there was on-site coverage of King Zulu and Rex arriving at the foot of Canal Street. (Since Rex means king, it is not proper to refer to him as King Rex.)

Well, let's hope the computer problems do not become a habit--I don't need things like that to break up the general unremarkability of my days.

Laissez le Bon Temps roulez.
