I had a bit of trouble getting to sleep last night--but none at all in staying there.

I woke up somewhere between 10 AM and 11 AM--with a sleep-inducing machine curled tightly up against me and still purring gently.

Well, I must have needed it.

Therefore, today was a this and that--translated as almost nothing.

My sleep-inducing machine must have also had a good night's sleep, because he's pacing around me as though asking "when are you going to move to the couch?"

Today was a "little stuff" day, and I treated myself to an Arby's supper for surviving it.

I usually take along my current geek book, which is--at this point--one about the ice ages and the effects of climate on civilization development.

It's a LOT more interesting than the title.

I was reading about the development of agriculture and its relationship to the way the various (European) civilizations developed. I suspect this sounds like a downright soporific topic, but I stayed on at Arby's a lot longer than usual, as the text delved into the differences in French and British civilization development--and what effects the coldness of the late 1700s had upon the various societies.

The book has been interesting, but now as it is getting into eras with which I have more historical familiarity it is quickly becoming a "just one more chapter" volume. (Can you recall childhood and begging a parent "just let me finish this chapter before I turn out the light?")

My plan is to go into work again tomorrow, unless weather or traffic conditions (such as a bad accident on my route) make staying at home more intelligent.

Time now, however, to see if there is any more news about situation in the Far East.
