I did manage to get to WalMart this morning to replenish the human and critter larders.

I'm sure I forgot stuff, but if it was insignificant enough to be forgotten, it can surely wait another day or two.

Aha! Large black boy cat just walked between the keyboard and monitor so that he could get to the "high place" on top of the printer.

This particular location has another advantage--the AC unit is somewhat to the right of his perch--AND directly in line with a fan which blasts the cool air back to where I am.

Neither he nor the raccoons were around when I was dishing out the dinners earlier this afternoon. I called and tapped on the trailer outside wall (a calling technique) and about five minutes later he AND several raccoons arrived, ready to eat.

Spots seems to regard the raccoons as hunting buddies/playmates. CC knows that she is a cat and shows little interest in the other critters that hang around. She's not hostile towrds them, she just isn't interested.

After getting the shopping done and put away, I settled down to read Diana's latest book--My Life as a White Trash Zombie.

I'm up to page 230 (ch.26) and at the moment I plan to finish it (310 pages total) before bedtime.

It's set in southeastern Louisiana--like her previous books--so if this is the first book of hers you're reading, y'all better get used to the definitive second person plural.

CC just bounced in here--probably to see what was going on. And I prefer not to be in between two cats when I am typing. Among other things, their bodies are not transparent, and they like to walk back and forth in front of the monitor.
