HA!

Well, on the North Shore (of Lake Pontchartrain) it was a little--especially when somewhat west of here--like New Orleans and even more so Metairie--got three to five feet.

And more heavy rain is in sight for later this afternoon.

Three to five feet--rather suddenly. The TV showed cars with water up over the hoods.

We won't even discuss houses, many of which had an inside-out washing from Katrina.

I'd already decided to stay home, because of the prospect of some rain. It doesn't take very much at all to make a mess of the streets and sidewalks on the Tulane campus and surrounding areas.

So, I stayed home, except for a quick trip to Popeye's for a 2-piece meal, which has taken care of lunch and will take care of supper this evening.

I'll be interested to see how the national news reports this.

On the bright side, the hurricane in the Atlantic is heading east and north at a brisk pace. No need to worry about Brett, unless for some reason you are in a smallish craft relatively far out in the southern Atlantic.

I think I should check the weather radar again to see if there will be rain here this afternoon.
