Another brilliantly exciting day here in the swamps.

I think it's raining lightly at the moment, but the weather radar suggests that the rain might increase.

The boy cat is on his newly discovered lookout post--a (plastic) trash can whose lid goes concave when he settles onto/into it.

If it's raining when he wants to come in he has two options--a quick dash through the raindrops to the front porch, or meowing pitifully until I open the door to the den.

We ailurophiles all know which will be his choice.

I managed to have an extended nap this afternoon, which means I'll probably not be ready for bed till late.

Whatever--I don't have to get up early tomorrow.

Next week I'll be back at work--at least on Monday and/or Tuesday. Wednesday is the lunch in Gulfport that I pushed forward mentally last week.

And then I have the orthopedic appointment either this Thursday or next.

My life is just bubbling over with excitement.

But--a dull life beats the ultimate alternative.
