Haven't had supper yet, but I had other stuff to do on the computer so I figured I'd post early.

Basically, it's been a monumentally dull day. The cats have been in and out. The "in" comes, of course, when they hear the rattle of the food dishes. I generally put their food out first, then tend to the masked ones, who wait their turn patiently. The really regular raccoon knows all the noises, and also that s/he'll have a bowl of dry cat food eventually. S/he's learned to be quite patient.

I did make a brief trip to WalMart--had to get gas and the usual other stuff--including (of course) food for all the various critters and one of their (Walmart's) ready-made green salads for my supper.

I think it's been in the nineties again today. This is warmer than usual, but I suspect my body is adapting to it. Fall cannot come too soon for me.

(Just realized that I forgot to get stuff for the food cupboard at church. Guess I'll raid my own cupboard and replenish it on the way home tomorrow.)

Word about the fish kill etc. of the Pearl River sounds mildly encouraging. "They" say the pollution is not as bad as they first thought.

Right. There were a LOT of fish that died, and if I lived near that river I'd be keeping my distance from it.

I guess it's "fortunate" that the paper plant that polluted it is fairly close to the Gulf of Mexico, instead of further upstream.

Can you imagine being a worker who cleans dead fish (hundreds) out of the river?

Enough for today. I have fed the feline creatures and put some dry cat food on the porch for the Regular Raccoons. I'll toss out the raccoon biscuits when it starts getting dark.

Today's paper had some pretty negative comments about the Superdome "remodelling"--especially of the level at which I have tickets. I also noticed that my parking pass is no longer for the roof, but an interior level.

(I couldn't resist this.)
