I listened to the weather forecasts, thought a bit, then gave my neighbor a call to give me a hand with the Lighting of the Furnace.

They are such nice people--they both came over (the fence between our yards has a gate in it) and in nothing flat Bay (the guy) had the furnace happily heating away.

The automatic pilot lighter died years ago, so a long wooden match stuck at the end of a specially twisted coat hanger is what carries a flame to the burner.

I have done this myself in the past, but it usually takes me several tries.

When spring comes the neighbors will be getting some azaleas to go along the property line.

So, with the exception of the Great Furnace Lighting it was an IUD.

At the moment I plan to go in to work tomorrow, unless the "possible rain" predicted loses the modifier and it plain old rains.

But whatever happens, my central heating is once again heating when I ask it to.

Yesterday's dr. appt. has messed up my sense of the day of the week. I have to keep saying to myself "today is Tuesday and tomorrow is Wednesday." There are only three days left in this week's work week.

I think I heard that at some point in the coming week (maybe even tonight) the Superdome will shine out with all sorts of new lights to recognize that it is now the Something-or-Other (Microsoft?) Superdome.

Bottom line there is that whoever has "adopted" it is paying big bucks for the publicity op.

The wind is blowing in just the wrong direction that a certain branch is rubbing the outside wall of where I am. It never does this when I am in this room in non-rainy daylight so that I can get the clippers and trim the branch. And (of course) I promptly forget about it when I'm not in the room when it is rubbing.

Maybe I'll put a note at eye level on the door to the outside I usually use.

Time now to find a bit to eat.
