I finally got back to work today. And once I'd crept down the last street before the left turn to the campus I was able to find a (relatively) close parking spot.

Work on South Claiborne is going at the pace of a comatose snail, although at least the part when you first come off the interstate has reached the "not bad at all" stage.

When I left for home I ran into more construction/repaving or whatever. Add to that the school buses and crossing zones and one definitely learns patience.

And I must admit that the vast majority of other drivers are quite courteous. What are the options? Practically none.

On the home front, the raccoon population at mealtime is diminishing--they are off establishing personal territories (including food sources) so that next spring when the females have young 'uns they'll know where to grab some quick food.

Did I mention that the metal dish disappeared again? One of these days I need to get the big flashlight out, put in a new battery, and see if it is under the house.

This is the first time since I've been feeding the critters that the food dishes have disappeared--and reappeared.

I had a call today from the Blood Center. I'm way overdue on donating, but I got the call because they really need my A-neg platelets for someone in the hospital. And not just any hospital--Children's Hospital.

Fortunately, the blood banks no longer appear to have a "top" age--or at least not for platelets.

And . . . . how about 'dem Saints? They totally clobbered the Indianapolis Colts Sunday evening. And the coach couldn't dance with joy, thanks to the broken leg from the week before.

That's it for today. Time to watch Monday Night Football.
