Not totally, however.

The man who picks up my trash came by for his semi-annual check. He's real nice, and has been handling our trash since we moved here--and there were only scattered independent trash-folks.

The alternative to that was taking your trash to the dump yourself.

Of course, that was back in the 70s and the big building boom had not yet begun.

When we lived here in the mid-60s the trailer park owner took care of the trash. There was no parish-wide service--there wasn't enough population (except in the towns) to justify it.

At any rate--we chatted a bit and I paid for the next six months.

He too found the tale of the travelling food dishes (via the raccoons) interesting.

Other than the visit by the trash man it was yet another IUD.
