YD said she'd join me today at the "gift place" and so she did.

Of course, I got myself directionally turned around, but after a quick call to YD got straightened up.

I personally would have given different "landmarks," but we view that particular area quite differently. It's just a little ways away from the place my mother spent her last years. When I mentioned that place, it rang no bell with her.

I haven't been by there much, and there's been a significant commercial build-up.

We had a nice lunch, then browsed through B & N. I got the gift card for the munchkin--it should be good for two or three books, depending, of course, on what titles grab her.

(I wonder how many of her classmates will get gift cards!)

My drive home was delightfully uneventful, and now I look forward to starting on a book I bought for myself on YD's recommendation.

When I got home I had a call from my pet care/Humane Society friend. She was looking for a (temporary) place for a couple of kittens. I reminded her that my cats were in-and-out cats now, as well as my hosting of the local wildlife. It would have been fun to have had feline visitors, and I suspect that my resident cats wouldn't have minded.

But Janice agreed that somewhere more secure would be better.

I made the mistake of looking at my little calendar and saw a dr. appt. on tomorrow's agenda. It's at 10:30, so I'll have time to call and find out what it's supposed to be for. I shall probably cancel it, or postpone it.

If it's just a BP check it can probably be skipped, since they checked that when I went in for the sore throat or whatever a couple of weeks ago.

So--another day is about gone.

How did Willy put it? "Tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow creep in this petty pace . . ." (Except when there are deadlines, and then the time really flies by.)
