What with one thing and another it's been a while since I made it in to New Orleans.

The main drawback has been the weather--either it's been wet or it promises to get wet during the day. I prefer not to walk in the rain. The sidewalks get very slippery and the cane is much more likely to slip.

And then there's the closure of my quickest route across Lake Pontchartrain. The route from my house to the interstate exit/entrance I plan to use doesn't have any fast fooderies on it. In the past I have frequently swung through a Micky for a sausage biscuit and senior coffee (under $2 with tax) which passes for breakfast on the move.

And I don't look forward to the heavier traffic on the interstate bridges.

Well, I'll have to work like mad when I do go in to get as much material as possible processed--and then do the typing etc. at home, like I have for the before-Xmas work.

On the homefront--nothing much new. The raccoons don't seem to have found individual homes yet and are still regular guests at mealtime. The cats have no problems with that.

And my life continues to be Incredibly Unremarkable.
