I don't know how long I can continue to function at this madcap pace .

Weather today was lovely Southern almost-Spring. I was almost tempted to do something related to gardening or yard-tidy---you get the picture.

However, sloth prevailed and I did little stuff around the house.

Somehow I had in my mind that this week held Mardi Gras, but if that was the case it got royally ignored here.

Next week has the "big day."

And that gives me an incentive to finish up the archival work I brought home, so that after all the Carnival hoopla I can settle down into a routine.

(You probably know why Mardi Gras is referred to as Carnival--but maybe not. Carnival comes from carne vale, which is Latin for farewell to meat. And that's done during Lent. Mardi Gras translates as Fat Tuesday, because that's when you try to eat all the meat before no-meat Lent.)

I told you today was a generally blah day.

Oops! Happy Valentine's Day! (That's in the fine print at the bottom of the calendar page, and totally unrelated to the upcoming Lenten season.)
