The number of "regular" raccoons has dropped in the last few days.

This leads me to suspect that somewhere in the adjoining woods are nests with baby raccoons. And at this early stage of their lives, their mamas stay with them except for when they absolutely have to eat and dispose of waste products.

The dry cat food (raccoon food) supply is dropping at its usual rate. The number of raccoons coming for the snacks (dog biscuits) seems to be down, but the cookies are also being consumed at their usual rate.

In a couple of weeks the mamas will show their children where the food magically appears.

It will probably be several more weeks before babies come to the local critter diner by themselves.

Today was another IUD, aside from observing raccoon behavior. My body suggested a sinking spell this afternoon, and I couldn't think of a good reason to ignore its call.

But if I doze off during the evening news I'll never get to sleep tonight. (And middle of the night TV is beyond awful.)
