It dripped and dribbled away with (mostly) trivial stuff.

And that includes today, although a telephone call late this afternoon has gotten me moving a bit more.

It was the guy who used to run the local Red Cross office. We got to know each other pretty well since I was an instructor in both First Aid/CPR and all levels of swimming--especially Lifeguarding.

He's retired now and active in the local Seniors group, and a couple of months or so ago I mentioned that I might be persuaded to talk about preserving family records--since I was spending several days a week getting family records and memorabilia ready for long-term storage at Newcomb. The local Seniors group meets more or less monthly and has programs of interest to the group in general.

I had probably just finished processing materials donated to Newcomb and full of paper clips and other metal things--many of which were beginning to show rust, from the generally humid air.

We didn't settle on a date, but within the month I'll be talking about preserving records.

Most of what I want to talk about is in my head, but I need to find local stores that carry acid-free paper etc.

It's been a while since I put together a lecture/presentation, but I'm pretty sure it will all come back to me once I start working on it.

And since I'm feeling "hyped" by the prospect of giving the talk, I'll be working on it steadily so as to get it "just right."

Until Jim's call the day was otherwise just another IUD.

I now have the "talk" planning in the back of mind--on the theory that my subconscious will be working on it when other thinking is called for.
