2008-07-08 1:00 AM Nerf and Nerdy So, my one of my two best friends from high school has been in the Pacific Northwest since his college days. He has a son now who is older than we were when we met. Scary.
Anyhow, his son likes playing with Nerf guns. By 'playing with' I mean not just shooting them, but modifying them to shoot further, etc. They're still safe, they just sting a wee bit more if you fire one into your palm. Nerf guns have come a long way since I played with them. Sure, they're still pneumatic and (with few exceptions) wholly manually-operated. However, some guns have features such as magazine-fed ammunition, removable stocks, extension barrels and tactical rails (a.k.a. Rail Interface System.) That said, there's always room for improvement. Be afraid... The magazine for this weapon only holds six shots. Others have cut theirs apart to make an extended magazine, but I'm just a newcomer to this hobby of Nerf-modding, so I wanted to start easy. ![]() The Nerf Recon CS-6 comes with a rather pathetic 'tactical light' that switches to a 'laser.' Rather than deal with that, I put the real thing in. ![]() Anyhow, much fun. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
